What Radiator, Electric Fan & Shroud for My Vintage Air?

Hello,

I'm working away on my project truck and buying lots of new parts along the way!

My radiator is leaking, so I have decided to buy a new aluminum radiator. My truck does not have a shroud.

I have installed my AC compressor, and will soon install the rest of my Vintage Air.

The question is what type of radiator, fan and shroud do I need to buy?

Ive searched the board but I am curious what will fit easily with my Vintage Air?

Does anyone know if this would fit and work well?

Do you have any similar recommendations that will fit well in my factory brackets, with Vintage Air?

Thanks,
Jason

Re: What Radiator, Electric Fan & Shroud for My Vintage Air?

I used engineered cooling products. Nice radiator, good price. Website is www.speedcooling.com I run a stock shroud and flexalite fan with a heavy duty clutch. The gap between my a/c condenser and my radiator is blocked off at the bottom and I made a gasket (of sorts) around my shroud from an old rear window rubber so as to seal it tightly to the radiator. Everything works perfectly even at 105 degree ambient temperatures while climbing steep grades. My motor is a warmed up 283 with a manual transmission.

What does this mean?:
"This will not fit in trucks that use the flange mount radiator that bolts to the core support."
http://www.speedcooling.com/1963-196...r/prod_37.html
What are they calling a flange?

Re: What Radiator, Electric Fan & Shroud for My Vintage Air?

I have been looking at radiator information online every chance I get, since I posted.
I had planned on a 3 core radiator but I have read that a 2 core is just as good as a 3 core in aluminum radiators? Can anyone comment on a 2 core aluminum? I have a 350 in my truck, btw.

I am curious how a 2 core aluminum would compare to my factory radiator. Im not even sure how many cores is has....

Flange mount is like 60-62 maybe 63 not sure. They have 3 or 4 bolts down each side holding them in. Later models use a bracket on top across the tank with cradles at the bottom. My aluminum has 2 very wide cores. Works just fine.
