Full Glass vs. Rear Slider... Your opinion needed!!!
As some of you know, i'm in the midst of building a '75 stepside for show and cruising only... i'm building it as a silverado, w/ pwr everything, air, the whole bit... even a factory tach... i want to build it w/ options, so... putting in a rear slider would be one more option... well... i really like the sleek look of a full glass... what's your opinion???

If I remember correctly a power slider looks like a solid back window, it's still a slider, it just dosen't have the big bulky track and frame.. I could be thinking about a different year though..
I really like the solid rear windows best...

I dont have air in my black 78. It came stock with a non-slider rear window. I installed a slider it certianly is alot cooler. I you have dogs you need to train to ride in the back of a pickup the slider works great with a leash. I took my solid glass out and have no regrets. I wondered how i could stand the heat without it.

For a show truck, full glass looks better then a slider. I had a slider in an 85, I had in high school, and it was fun cruisin' around with it open and subs-a-bumpin.

I just replaced a slider with another slider, but if I had to do it again, I would go with a tinted solid, it looks better. I may do it when I get to the body part of the restoration.

Go with the solid glass. Another good thing about it, it's harder to break into. (as if these trucks are hard. I can break in with a coat hanger in under 10 minutes...)

I would also go with full glass. With no ac you would need the slider but with a show truck definately get a full glass.

I vote solid glass. I hate my slider! It raddles w/ the subs and the resonence (sp?) from the exhaust.

I used to have a slider and loved the ability to open it on a nice day. The early one morning a couple of lowlifes pried it open and tried to steal my truck. All they got were my CD cases (temporarily) and a 7 year sentence. The next Monday I replaced it with a solid back glass. I vote solid.
