Any one using Baer Disc Brakes??? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I put in my order for Baer front and rear disc brakes. Has anyone used this before? They have a bolt-in setup for the front of 67-70. Here are the links:

This kit is supposed to use the stock master cylinder and proportioning valve too.

Cool. I should have mine ready to go in about 3 weeks. They are modifying my Early Classic dropped spindles for the brakes. I'm supposed to get my spindles back with it all assembled. I can't wait.

Are you staying six lug or converting to five?

I'm converting to 5-on-5. So I have to change my wheels too. I'm going to get some Budnik 17's or 18's. So I'll be getting disc brakes, lowering the truck, and new wheels all on the same weekend. Should be a LONG weekend too.

Have you bought the wheels yet? I know where a set of 17's are. My buddy has a set of very low mileage Budnik 17" Talledaga with Nitto tires for sale....

What are they doing to your spindles? I want bigger brakes on my 82 Blazer, but don't want to get rid of my 3" spindles.

N2TRUX,

I haven't got my wheels yet. Are those the wheels in the picture? How much does he want? What are the offsets and tire sizes?

On my spindles they are just modifying them to mount their caliper bracket. They have their own spindle but I just like the ECE spindle. I'd call them and see if they even have brakes for the blazer.

Yeah, crappy pic and all those are the wheels. I'm not sure about the backspace, but the truck is bagged, so they will tuck. He wants to sell tires/wheels and wheels discs too. Here's a better look at the wheel-

I know they don't show the 73-87 applications, but I'm sure they could be made to fit.

My Blazer has slotted rotors, and a rear disc conversion now. I just want to take it to the next level....

So whats the total cost for the brakes and modifing your spindles?
What else do you need thats not included from baer?

I think the total cost is around $2500 for front and rear. They say that it is designed for the stock master cyl. and prop. valve. I guess I'll see.
