Tranny snaps my neck from 1-2

should I be worried that my trannsmission shifts extremely hard from first to second, is this bad for the tranny?

No, it isn't bad. My opinion it is good. Sounds like you have a shift kit installed in it. Get worried when it starts slipping.

Wait a second guys if he as a 7004 and the TV cable in not adjusted right couldn't this cause it to do this as well and ruin his tranny? But if you have a TH350 or a TH400 then you're fine Sounds like mine when I'm on it. That 2500 stall kick in (sometimes 3000 ) and I'm off.

Don't foget vacuum leaks! My brother-in-law's '79 diesel used to shift hard from 1-2, hard enough to move your neck, because it didn't shift early enough. It would wait until near full rpm to shift. Hard on you and your transmission. Anytime vacuum is involved check the lines for leaks.

just open your throttle all the way open (WOT) and hold it there or have someone hold it. the see if the TV cable will go any farther in the same direction. if not loosen it a little till you have just a very mi-nute play in it. then your probably adjusted just right

It's better if you have someone in the truck with there foot on the pedal and to the floor.

Then you can go under there and adjust the cable.

$1154 for a rebuild w/ Trans-go kit and Vette servo. Feels good.
