Hood Seam
I have some small blisters in the paint on my hood which is going to require me to get a repaint. I wondering if I should have the seams between the different panels that make up the hood filled once the paint is stripped. Have any of you had this done? What did you use, lead or some epoxy seam sealer?

I really don't have an answer for you. Mostly just observations from seeing other folks address this problem. These rust spots are very common. I have seen folks MIG weld the seam to fill it. It makes a very clean body line if done properly. I'm not sure if it's a better long term solution. I don't think body filler would be a good idea. Seam sealer might work. Lead filler would be good but I don't know anyone who does that anymore. I'm planning to weld mine and hope for the best.

my body man used seam sealer to keep water from getting in. I always wondered if we could solder the seams closed?

I will be using evercoat maxim body panel adheasive to fill the seams in hood and also on the fleetside bed..i used it to install the nose of the hood and also the roof skin.stuff really locks it down..im assuming it will do better than the average seam sealer..unless its a 2 part epoxy type seam sealer,which evercoat also has. good luck!

LVPhotos what did you use to fill the pits left by welding...body filler? Did it stay?
