Smile '72 LS2/4L60E swapped shortbox C10

First time register, long time reader of these posts, figured I'd finally join up and share my own truck. This is my 1972 C10 Deluxe shortbox. The truck has been in my family since it was new, my dad bought it brand new down in Sacramento, California. After originally ordering a C20 SuperCheyenne 4WD longbox, he drove down to the dealer only to have found that they sold the truck. Happily however, they sold him this truck, a 1972 Deluxe 2WD shortbox with a 350 and a TH350 trans with $500 off sticker price. Fast forward almost 40 years, I was bequeathed the truck at 15. Throughout the course of the coming years, I drove this truck until the motor started burning more oil than I could put in. After the death of my mother, I and a great friend who runs a Hot Rod fabrication shop embarked on giving this truck the motor it deserved and that motor was an LS2 and a 4L60E trans out of a wrecked 2006 Pontiac GTO. The truck has a rebuilt 12 bolt, 3.73 Yukon Gear ring and pinion, Eaton TruTrack positraction along with a AFCO aluminum radiator with dual 12" electric fans. Fuel system is a Boyd Welding fuel cell(19 gal) with an Aeromotive 700HP capable fuel pump The truck has about 5,300 miles on it as of my posting this thread. I'm 17 now and it's my current daily driver. I average about 23 on the highway with around 20 MPG in mixed driving. Thanks so much for reading! Name: 20150529_191908.jpg

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Welcome. That's a very nice looking truck and its obvious how much hard work you've put into it. Thanks for posting the pictures.

Re: '72 LS2/4L60E swapped shortbox C10

Just reading my new Goodguys magazine last night and the subject was "the future of our sport is in good hands". I agree.
17 years old and rocking a LS-2 in that beautiful truck. Very nice.
Did you guys put a cam in that LS yet? I put a 07 (same as yours) crate motor in my 67 Chevelle and then put a little over 9000 miles on it in the last two years. Only regret was not putting a nasty cam in it for that rumble I missed. Fixed that earlier this year.

Awesome truck, man! I bought my 69 C10 when I was 15 as well. Rebuilt the 396 and restored the body at 16-17 years old. Still have it at 27 and am still working on it! You're ahead of me, though. I've been wanting to do a LS swap for a long time! Hang onto that truck forever! You have an awesome story behind it.
