Clutch fan question
I searched all through the treads and none of them answer my question so I figured I'd just see off anybody could answer it. Ok so a few months ago I replaced my radiator with a 3 row aluminum one. About a week ago my truck just started sounding like I'm driving through a wind tunnel at like 2,000 rpm and higher it does it cold hot no matter what. On the freeway it's all I hear. Ok if my clutch fan is bad how do I tell which one I have ( I'm assuming its original and my truck is a 70 c20) and also is it ok to drive like that?

Re: Clutch fan question
I just replaced one on my c20. local part stores have them. take it with you and match it up. the part that the book showed for mine did not match but the parts guy found one that did.

Re: Clutch fan question
Clutch fans usually fail by having the fluid leak out of the clutch, then slipping, and the vehicle running hot. It may be that the bearing has seized, so you would have to replace it for that reason, as well.

Re: Clutch fan question
I drove mine like that for several weeks. my belts would squeal and the noise sounded like I was stuck in second gear. you do not want the fan coming off driving down the road. not saying it will but I would fix it.
