after market or stock

recently acquired 1972 C20 highlander with lots of options some after market in to process of cleaning up have taken off running board steps for clean and priming underside Like the stock look but I may have to put boards back on the Mrs likes them maybe keep it close but enjoy some of the after market perks ?

Definitely looks better without those steps. But you know the saying, happy wife, happy life. Perhaps you could get a set of small fold down steps that wouldn't be that visible when retracted. One other thing, you need to swap out those Ford hubcaps on the rear for something with a bowtie on it

The front hubcaps in your photos are the factory P03 hubcaps.

Re: after market or stock

Another option would be to fabricate some nerf bar steps and bolt them to the frame, i don't think anyone makes them anymore, or a single step for that matter. My truck has had a set of boards like yours for probably 98% of its life, i don't care for them much ether but i'm short and my truck is lifted 4",

"Sorry honey, I found out running boards will rust the doors, fenders and rockers and cancer will take the entire body".
