Cowl vent drain
Water enters around pick panel vents when parked in hard rain. Just enough to dampen floor near door sills.
Replaced kick panel vent door seals. Vent doors now shut tight and seal out air…looks like water seeps around vent mounting. How does air (and thus water) flow from outer cowl vent (by wipers) to kick panel vent area? Is there a cowl vent drain path or tube out bottom or to engine bay (mine perhaps plugged)? |

I have sseen folks cut a hole (blue square), then patch/seal the damage, then weld back the hole to repair it there.

Re: Cowl vent drain
I just finished repairing mine as described in post above.theres also a sheetmetal deflector spot welded just above the vent opening that's probably rusted away also.

Re: Cowl vent drain
excellent! Thanks....I'm betting years of pine needles and forest duff clogging drain.
Can I access the drain hole under fender without pulling fender?? I'm going in. |

Re: Cowl vent drain
You can also remove your vents from the inside and reach into the cowl. Just feel around and pull out the junk clogging the drain.
This is also a great nesting spot for wasps. Have fun! |
