Source for rear engine mounts for my '69
Hey guys, Turned out that Mike could not get me these parts, anyone have a line on where I can at least get the metal hardware, spacers plates and bolts? the rubbers are available online, I just can't find the sleeves and compression plates for the bottom doughnuts.
I have been slowly putting together a ratty '69 C10 long bed for the last few months. It has a great body with an '83 350 mounted to a Muncie M21. It looks like the truck was built by a guy, the transmission fell apart and it was put away for a few years. I just rebuilt the transmission and replaced the clutch and noticed that only the top cushions of the bellhousing mounts for the rear engine mounts were there. the truck had been operating with only the two front mounts actually attached to the frame. I ordered the necessary rubber parts from LMC, but I feel like they are missing some type of inner steel sleeves, as well as any washers and bolts, which run through the lower and upper rubbers and screw into the bell housing. Any thoughts on a good source for these parts or a drawing? NAPA and online are very vague. Thanks. John |

It was originally a 6-cyl truck? You could just remove the bellhousing crossmember and put in a rear crossmember. A Muncie 4-sp will have a place for a rear mount.

Mark,
As far As I can see, it was originally a 393. I have the rubbers, I'll just put it together and guess at the sleeve sizes and get some square washers from Mcmaster. Thanks for the input. |
