My new 350 finally installed and running

Never did post any pictures of the 350 I installed in place of a tired 250 six. The idea was to keep it clean and understated.

Block: 1997 4-bolt bored to 4.030"
Rotating assembly: Eagle entry-level balanced kit with Speed Pro hyper pistons
Heads: GM Vortec
Cam: GMPP RamJet 350 roller
Intake: Weiand 8121
Distributor: GM HEI
Throttle and kickdown cables & bracket: Lokar
Carb: Holley 600 CFM #80457SA
Air Cleaner: Late 1970s Chevy (???)
Air Intake Duct kit: Spectre #9751
Exhaust: cast iron 1996-2000 manifolds and HeartThrob 2-1/4" pipes
Transmission: Rebuilt TH350 with TransGo Stage I valve body mods

Very clean and sanitary engine bay-I think your level of understatedness is what makes it stand out a LOT! Well done!!

Re: My new 350 finally installed and running

Thanks guys. My initial goal was no chrome or polished aluminum, but I couldn't quite pull it off.

BTW, thanks to Long Racing Engines in Irving, TX for doing the block machining, and to my GM mechanic friend John C. for rebuilding the TH-350. And I couldn't have installed the engine & trans without the help of Geoff S. and John R.

Re: My new 350 finally installed and running

Here's a better picture of my very basic truck with WAY too much money invested in it! It wasn't my original plan, but I probably have $8K total in a truck that's worth maybe $5K.

It will replace the Ford F-150 in the background, which I'm trading in on a new Mustang GT.

Re: My new 350 finally installed and running

I feel your pain, after I destroyed the transmission in my truck. My wife says to me when she finds out how much the new tranny cost. You have about 10 grand in that truck now ! Of course I said no way, trying to seek out a correct answer from my now scrambled mind. I pop off with " I do Not". Followed with how you figure that ? Then she starts. I lost that round, even if I really don't have that much in the truck. I do have a strong 6 in the truck.
