wheel offset stock rearend

Hey guys, wondering about backspacing/offset for a 20x12 wheel on a stock 67 rear end width? Any help would be much appreciated. Would like the tire to be really close to the edge. I've trimmed the inner 45 degree lip already.Any photos? Thx,David

Re: wheel offset stock rearend

That's a huge wheel, 20x12.

Always best to measure.

FWIW, on my 15x8 wheels I'm just running the standard 50/50 setup, so the 4 inches "out" from the flange but my tire close to the stepside fender.

Depending on overall tire height, I'd need to run something like an 8" backspace and a minitub on my truck to fit a 20x12!

Re: wheel offset stock rearend

Are you lowering the truck? How much did you trim the lip? If you're running a stock width 67 rear, 7"-8" backspace is what you'll need, depending on how much you cut out. 7" will put the tire right at the fender lip on the inside, 8" will give you a little clearance, as Heavymetl posted above. I'm running 19x12's on 6" backspace with a narrowed rearend (1" on each side)and I cut about 1/2 of the fender lip out and my tire is right at the edge of the inner fender lip with a 7.5" drop. DO NOT take these measurements as the gospel - your results WILL vary, so make sure you measure over and over again with the bed on exactly how you'll run it with the 12" wide wheels. I see way too many people on here asking for measurements of what everyone else did, but the only way to know for sure is to check. A 20x12 is probably a custom order and usually too expensive to do over if you don't get it right.

Re: wheel offset stock rearend

Thanks, only lowering 2.5/4 inch . Looking at photos I may end up with more drop! Have a ford 9inch so there will be tons of measuring before wheel purchase. Thanks for the advice/pics, great looking truck.
