Shifter help! ('52 with Saginaw 4-speed)
My dad has a '52 1/2 ton 2wd pickup. It is running a hopped up 235 and is backed by a Saginaw car 4-speed. He is desperately trying to find a shifter for it because the restoration is done on the truck and he's ready to drive it! Lol. He ordered one through Patrick's (that's specific for this application) but it's been backordered for about 10 months. This is literally the only thing left to do on the truck. Has anybody had any experience with this setup? Any suggestions on a shifter that he could use? More bolt-on, less hacking...the better.

Ive got an m21 in my 49. use a hurst shifter with a custom mounting plate to get the shifter head up to the floor. might work on your trans.

To do it right with Hurst pieces you need the shifter, the installation kit for the Saginaw trans such as this kit http://www.ebay.com/itm/HURST-COMP-P...967-Chevelle-l /301722219051?hash=item46400bb22b:m:mDGOJBXiCPKTHhRF1TY_6Cw&vxp=mtr
and a handle that works with the seat he has in the truck. You don't need a special or custom high rise mount for the shifter but you will most likely have to study the shifter handle selection to figure out which one works best. I've still got the shifter I used with the M21 Muncie in my 48 and the handle may have a number stamped in it. That handle worked perfect with the stock seat. It's too late, too cold and too dark to check it tonight though. I've got a similar setup on the Hurst 3 speed shifter that is in the truck now.
