gas tank

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this but hey won't hurt. I'm looking for a lead on a stock 59 apache gas tank. Need one to mount up just like original. Every place i look they are outrageously priced. If anyone has anything on one let me know.

Re: gas tank

rockauto.com 143.00 plus shipping best one I found for the money, I think that's the one I am going with. CANADA MADE. I personally would not go with a used one unless you can inspect the interior for rust.

Sort of like using a used oil filter.

Re: gas tank

From experience I'd say that the gas tank is one thing you are far better off to spend the extra few bux and buy new and be done with it. Even the cleanest on the outside old tanks often have dirt, debris, rust and the results of old gas sitting in them for a length of time especially the ones that had unleaded sitting in them in the past few years. That adds to more headaches than the cheap used tank is worth and from what I see on FB and other places a lot of guys think their old cruddy ones are worth as much as a new one.

If you have Amazon Prime you can get a Spectra Premium tank for 155.29 delivered. Amazon.com: Spectra Premium GM55B Fuel Tank for... Amazon.com: Spectra Premium GM55B Fuel Tank for...
Lately I check both Rock Auto and Amazon on the majority of parts I am hunting if I can wait a couple of days for them and have saved a lot.
