suicide door progress
I played hooky from work today...and stayed home to do a little work on my truck. I think I should change careers... I enjoy this much more than my "real job".

I'm going to brace it with some plate and some supports to the back of the cab. i didn't know it was harder than chopping a top? I have put alot of thought into this and I have been asking a few questions of people who are also doing it.

I made my hinges.... bought the Plans off Ebay... Those 300.00 dollar hinges... yeah right.. I have 40.00 dollars in mine and have material left over...

The auto loc hinge's did not work out very well on monster garage donut cop car.. Jesse had to make em work...BTW it look's like you have a good start on the jamb's please keep us posted..

Yeah they didn't have enough room on the donut car to spread out the weight... I on the other hand have lots of room. My hinges are very similiar to the autoloc hinges.

Yeah, I left it... I'm looking forward to cutting out the box now...I'm sure that will be a treat, cutting through 2 areas...***************** was the first site i looked at when i started thinking about this... I didn't want to drop that kind of cash in case I changed my mind.... |

Well Crazy,
My plans after the doors is a tilt front end. I was going to get the fiberglass job from US body... but if you help me keep the set up I have that'll work too... save me 1200.00 bucks also. |

Wanna fill some holes?
Notice there is no hole where the little rubber stopper goes... Here's the trick. I went to Home Depot and bought a 3/4" copper coupling, split it with a hack saw, hammered it flat... I held it behind the hole and filled it right up... better than the 8 bucks Eastwood wanted for almost the same thing.

Passanger complete
not as good as the driver's side but still I'm impressed. One tip if I can give any yet... Be nice with the grinder. I was working in the dark last night and when I was grinding I had plenty of light... but not enough to really see what I was doing. If my lazy butt would have gotten up and plugged in my artificial sun. I wouldn't of had to repair so much today. I got a little deep in one spot and burned through and created a hole. I welded it up and ground it off today... But I learned. I also have noticed I don't warp anything when welding... it's when i ground stuff off is when I warped stuff being too aggressive. I think I'll cut the section out of the firewall and redo it... I warped it pretty good. I'll shut up... here's the pics
