Are push-lock and compression fitting interchangeable?
So I mocked up my combination of GM Air Shocks and Delco Pleasure Lift today. One problem is that the shocks have one inlet each and get connected to a T; the Tee fitting, however, is a Shraeder valve so you can air it up with a tire pump.
Rather than the tire pump I need to connect it to the gauge/regulator in the cab. That means I need a T without the Shraeder valve so I can connect all 1/8" tubes as equals; one to each shock and one to the regulator. I noticed that you can buy push-lock fittings in 1/8" and I'm wondering if, with this plastic tubing, you can use push-lock interchangeably with compression fittings. The pipe/tube looks the same to me, and it's rated for the pneumatic pressure, so other than perhaps not looking period correct, any problems with using push-lock? I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but some of the little rubber o-rings in my 45 year old system are getting a little dry...

Thanks Andy. When you say you did yours, did you combine a Power Pak with the Lift shocks? Anything else other than the T that I described require thought?

I did mine with helper air bags inside the springs. I have the old shocks that came with the kit when my dad gave it to me but didn't use them long before I dropped the truck. I took and ran the rear passenger side line to a tee then to the drivers side then to another tee. I then ran a shraeder valve at the back of the truck to use in case the compressor quit. I then ran the other two hoses to the compressor and gauge inside the truck.
