Door Window Problem

I am building a 67 GMC for a friend and I have something going on I never had a issue with before we put brand new doors on , new complete windows with metal , new regulator , problem is when you roll the window up all the way the metal tract that is glued to the bottom of window come out of door way to high and if you have window rubber rain sweep and rattling strip inside installed the metal catches on it and wont let the window roll up all the way its like the window is 3/8 inch short but it measured the same as a original I have a couple of solutions but I was wondering if any of you guys ever had issues. Thanks

Never heard of that one. Was the new metal channel on the bottom of the glass deeper than the original one? If the glass and channel are the same height as the originals then the window opening in the new door has to be too tall. I suppose the channels that the window guide rollers fit into could be in a different position than the original ones too. Dunno....

Do you have a new aftermarket window assembly and door too? How about the window channel inside the upper door frame, is it new?

what kind of shape are the rollers on your window regulators? most are shot, wondering if they may be the culprit.....

Yes everything is new its like the glass needed to be 3/8" taller but it measures same as a original the internal parts of the door came from LCM and the doors came from American Classic Truck Parts out of Texas they fit the cab good but either the top door channel did not get in position correctly or the guide inside that holds regulator anyway I will correct problem myself I have a couple of options heck you can do a lot with metal thanks for the reply I was just wondering if anyone else ever had problems ive done a lot of these trucks but usually use original parts.

When you replace everything at once it would be really hard to figure out what part is different from the originals. If a person replaced one part at a time it would be easy to tell.

Be sure and post back in this thread when you find out what's going on for future reference.....
