16 inch OEM Chevrolet wheel question
I have a 2001 Tahoe that came with after-market chrome wheels and new 16 inch tires. Did not like the wheels so I took them off and purchased a set of 1998 or 1999 OEM aluminum 16 inch wheels off of a Tahoe. Got them mounted and balanced today and came home to put them on. Tried the front ones on and the wheels rub on the calipers. Any ideas??

Re: 16 inch OEM Chevrolet wheel question
The brake calipers on the 01 are larger than the obs tahoe. The inside shape of the wheels are probably different thus rubbing on the larger caliper.

Re: 16 inch OEM Chevrolet wheel question
steel rims will clear a with 16" but i think you need 17" aluminium rims to clear the caliper....

Re: 16 inch OEM Chevrolet wheel question
Thanks for all the info. Did find out in late 2000 Tahoe went to larger calipers. J
