Seat spring help.
Redoing the seat for my 71. Got the old cover and foam off and have one spring broke on the drivers side. Anyone know where I can get a replacement? Thanks for any help.

Check the salvage yards. A lot of seats used the same style springs. LockDoc

Sounds like Grumpy is going to solve this one but if you like you can just bend your own springs. Upholstery places sell z-springs and coil springs of various sizes. For material you can salvage an old box spring (as in for a mattress) and get lots of spring stock out of one of those. Then just cut a piece that is roughly the right shape and rebend it to adjust using a DIY tool like in the video. Or buy straight spring wire at the hardware store or upholstery supply I'll attach a pdf plan for a couple of similar tools.. between that and the video you'll know enough.. |

Re: Seat spring help.
Furniture springs and automotive springs are two totally different animals . if you sit on your seat and hear crunch crunch you need new springs .

Re: Seat spring help.
Hey thanks I will post a pic of it first thing in the morning I appreciate everyone's help. It's the spring on the drivers side. Looks like it keeps foam from sagging. And again you guys are great!
