Custom console done

I put this in my build thread but thought I would share here also. I like one panel being done but it's close. I will get some pics of it installed tomorrow with the floor shift and all.

Nicely done. Will there be an arm rest?

Re: Custom console done

No arm rest, I just don't think it would look good that tall. I am doing a full custom interior and then paint so I still jave A good bit to do. I plan to have a hide for the fuel tank with more speakera in the back between the seats.

Re: Custom console done

Arm rest would be like an iceberg in between the seats if you try to make it work for the passenger also, Looks like your design would fit with a bench seat as well. Looks Brilliant, rest of the truck looks good also BTW. Post some more photo's inside and out. Happy Year.

Re: Custom console done

This post is old but drfloyd asked for an after pic so I thought I would throw one in here for him. I also wrapped my whole dash on a whim and it turned out really good. I have to get me a new pad since the old one was toast.

Re: Custom console done

Well I managed to get the rear speaker box done and covered. Everything is hooked up and sounds good. That pretty much does it for the console.

Re: Custom console done

Looks awesome! What kind of material did you use? I want to do something similar but I have a bench seat so not as long. Looking at floor shifters too

Re: Custom console done

I ordered the material from www.yourautotrim.com. It is called Xtreme vinyl but they have several choices, it was $10 a yard. I also bought some 1/4" sculpting foam to back it and make some form under the vinyl so it stands out and is not just flat. I left a 1" edge around it to give it some depth and cut out some circles in the foam around the cup holders. I used some weldwood contact glue and it works great and just formed it from 3/8" plywood and 2x2 cross braces and top support.

This was a first for me so don't be afraid to try it.

Re: Custom console done

Not real sure on the seats. The PO had them in it already.I believe he told me they came out of a Honda car or van. They work good, I plan to custom cover them.
