Help with metal bending - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Hey guys I’ve been looking at getting a metal bender lately. Would mostly replace the ancient vise, heat and hammer that I use presently use. Would be nice to be able to do some tubing though as well. I’ve looked at HF, but don’t prefer to buy offshore tools. I found some hydraulic ones, but those are way outside of my price range, especially considering the accessories. Not going to do production stuff at all either.

Anyone have any "direct" experience with these benders? Looks like they are USA made and have a full warranty which I like.

I had a brake and a shrinker streacher from tp tools and equipment it was first class americian made equipment at reasonable prices // they have good sales sometimes at major swapmeets if you can wait and take advantage of the sales and if you have a truck to transport the stuff and save shipping costs

I have a 40 ton press and one of these at work http://www.northerntool.com/shop/too...FYU-aQod80MM9Q works great and will bend 1/4" with ease

swag off road has a nice brake to go with any hydraulic press
you can buy the complete bender or the weld up kit

I bought the weld up kit and it works well.

I prefer Eastwood was recommended by my instructors when I was doing my street rod and fabrication course back in 08 as the dyi source but metal benders and presses could get pricey fast depending on your needs
