Firewall electrical plug pin-out diagram?
I need some info on what the wires to the firewall plugs are doing.
The large connector by the brake master melted on mine so I am just going to run the wires through a grommet. Also looking to sub in a blade fuse block - so any information on which one would be awesome. I didn't find anything in a search but if this has been covered so sorry - just let me know where. |

Re: Firewall electrical plug pin-out diagram?
If the harness is that bad and you want a new fuse block I would put a new harness in the truck. I did it in my 65 after trying to fix what I had to no avail. Every time I went to work on the truck something else would not work. I went with american auto wire in mine and would highly recommend them.

If I wanted to keep the large firewall connector that is by master cylinder would there be a source for a replacement? |

So the only other option would be to find a junk harness that still has those connectors intact. Extract the old terminals/wires, clean up the plastic connector shells, crimp new terminals onto your wires, and insert them into the appropriate cavities. |

Re: Firewall electrical plug pin-out diagram?
Does the American Autowire kit come with the firewall connector like ours? What is the kit number?

Re: Firewall electrical plug pin-out diagram?
Thanks guys - so I checked the harness I have and its actually great. Really good.
So here is the next issue: since I no longer need the voltage regulator, or anything distributor/coil related, what do I hook up to get 12V to the harness. Can I run the 12V Red wire direct from the battery to the wirewall connector instead of to the horn relay first? My 1 wire alternator doesn't need to sample from the horn relay so I figure it would make most sense to send 12V straight through the red wire to the firewall connector on the driver side near the master?
