'64 Rear Spring Shackle Needed
Rebuilding the rear springs on '64 K10 and found one of the shackles that attaches to the rear spring eye has worn bushing hole pretty big.
Photo below of shackle needed. Looking for one in good condition. Another option for me is to put a thicker bushing in mine, after boring out to larger dia. Thanks Les |

Re: '64 Rear Spring Shackle Needed
After looking at it more repairing this one will be difficult, so need a replacement.
The cast number is 3726902, and it should be the right side. Which years used this shackle would be helpful too. Les Last edited by aotte1; 01-08-2016 at 10:26 PM. |

Re: '64 Rear Spring Shackle Needed
Hi aotte1
Eddy from Page AZ here I just pulled my rear axle and spring hangers etc. from my 64 K10 Suburban to replace the original springs and hangers with longer springs. You can have them for the cost of shipping. I will post pictures tomorrow for you and you can decide. PM me with your address for shipping. Eddy |

Re: '64 Rear Spring Shackle Needed
OK here we go
I replaced the rear shackles 4 years ago with new ones from LMC they fit and worked properly played with the truck for about 2 month and decided it needs way more than just shackles in the suspension department. The pics show the originals and the new stuff. |

Eddie,
PM sent. What are you finding with your new springs? Do you still have original springs? Thanks, Les |

Re: '64 Rear Spring Shackle Needed
Les
I am in the process of removing the original parts as we speak or write for that matter so i do not now yet. I was basically in the same boat sorry truck situation like '63GENIII ,Spring Swap Thread - 1963 K15 , you probably know him. I swapped a 350tbi (mildly tweaked) kept the trans/transfer case and drove it, well in addition it has now Hydro-boost brakes and power-steering and some other goodies, with the 6.5 inch lift blocks in the rear and everything else to modern day specs one (me) drove it a bit to aggressive and warped the rear springs...,..! If you want to stay original rear springs i would contact a spring shop and have them look at it! Eddy PM on the way |

Re: '64 Rear Spring Shackle Needed
Hey Les, a little late to the game here but I also have 2 shackles left from my swap. Pins included. Just looked at them and the bushings are still clean (not worn through). Still have the springs I pulled out too. If you need them, same deal as Eddy. Just cover the ride.

Re: '64 Rear Spring Shackle Needed
Eddy,
Here are some photos, not very impressive. It came from an estate sale in AZ. Doing a restoration on it, currently most of it is off to be cleaned. The suspension and axles are still with me. Currently rebuilding them. The photos below are of the K10 being disassembled. Les Last edited by aotte1; 01-12-2016 at 02:33 PM. |

Re: '64 Rear Spring Shackle Needed
A couple of front Dana 44 axle photos, before cleaning. Second photo show the gear ratio tag, gives the number of teeth on each gear for 3.73. Not to much rust just lots of dirt from playing in AZ high country.
If you want photos of other parts of truck may have them. L |
