Back to bone stock, my '86 K/30

As some of you know I'm a huge fan of bone stock, correct trucks. I bought my '86 K/30 almost 4 years ago. It's a truck I have always wanted, bone stock in and out, except it was lifted. A few weeks ago I had a friend that wanted the wheels and tires off of it, so I thought, this is my chance to remove the lift and go back stock.
So I sold the lift, wheels and tires.
I bought new factory springs, had a set of correct wheels powder coated, new tires, and a set of NOS hub caps.
I know it lost its "wow" factor, and my friends think I'm crazy, but I'm loving the new look. It's now exactly how I want it

I like the lifts and big tires but agree you just improved the truck - looks great.

Very nice! I love the new look! Nothing better to me than an extremely clean original example. I'm a big fan of the new "upgrades"!

It's definitely a nice truck, but I like the before as well, and I'm not a fan of lifted trucks.

Re: Back to bone stock, my '86 K/30

Looks great either way. Hard to find or build a truck more perfect than yours. For me a 2" lift and a set of oversize semi aggressive tires on those stockers and caps gives you the best of both worlds

Has the "Wow" in both configurations, you didn't lose anything. Definitely looks more crisp & refined in stock mode.

Looks good with the caps. I like when the caps are used to paint the rim body color. I would look good in black and make the caps pop. IMHO.

Re: Back to bone stock, my '86 K/30

The nice thing about stock height/wheels and tires is you have much less chance of throwing rocks and debris up the side of your nice paint finish. That's reason enough for me to leave the truck stock....at least as far as the rolling gear is concerned IMO.
