Re: New look, polished slotted mags with chevy center caps
I like it, but I've always been a sucker for slot mags.

You should look into late model dual thread lug nuts...threads on the outside of the lug for a plastic screw on cap that holds the center cap on. Here is a pic of my '75 with the newer caps on the old rally's.

Re: New look, polished slotted mags with chevy center caps
Nice throwback look! I had wheels like that on a car and a van in the 1970s.

Re: New look, polished slotted mags with chevy center caps
Looks great? Is it a one way street? i.e. once you drill the holes for the caps, you can kinda never take em off because you'll have 3 tapped holes showing? They do need to be attached that way, the lug nuts should not trapping the cap in place. Just curious how you're planning to attach them - I really like the look. Love slots anyway, nice twist on the classic!

Re: New look, polished slotted mags with chevy center caps
Thanks for the compliments guys, as far as a way to place them, i am thinking of some sort of adhesive, maybe a good super glue, there is enough flat surface on the back of the cap that i feel it will make a solid bond and hold on to the cap, most likely il place the wheels face up with a weight holding the cap down and if i ever do remove it i can always sand down the adhesive and polish the surface up again. but i am really loving the look over the original cap

Re: New look, polished slotted mags with chevy center caps
I think a flexible adhesive would work better that super glue. The wheel and the cap will expand and contract differently with temperature and may break the glue bond. A good two sided tape might do the trick. I do like the look though.
