1973 Cheyenne LED advice

Hi,

I've got a lifted 73 Cheyenne and I'm thinking about running a 50-52" Cree LED light bar on top. Has anyone done this? Is it worth it, or just something that looks cool?

Thank you,

Doc

Which LED light bar is the most dependable? Is Cree really the way to go?

Most light bars use cree leds but you get what you pay for so stay clear of the cheapo ones you find on ebay or amazon. The best brand to me is http://www.rigidindustries.com/ budget brands http://olympusoffroad.3dcartstores.com/ or http://www.inspired-engineering.com/default.asp

I've heard of Rigid, and Amazon does carry that brand. Are the "budget brands" that you named still worth it, or is that the "you get what you pay for" scenario?

Re: 1973 Cheyenne LED advice

The olympus offoad ones have a lifetime warranty and a few of the jeep guys i know use them and love it.The inspired ones i have only seen the cube lights in person and they was a lot brighter then a thought that small of a light could be.Long term would be hard to say since most led light bars haven't been around 10 years or longer.Or you could go old school and get kc lights or lightforce both of those are old and known for lasting a long time.Or both kc light and lightfore offer led lights now.

lights on the roof will light up more hood than road . front bumper or grille area is best.

Re: 1973 Cheyenne LED advice

Yeah, unless it's a spot you'll light up your hood enough that you're better off without them.
