Small back window?

Has anyone here converted to the small back window? I really like the look and I am thinking about cutting up my '85 C/10 to do this. I found a small back window 1976 to cut up as an organ donor.

I'm thinking you mean 1967 instead of 1976. I've seen a pic of one somewhere. Didn't care for the look but to each his own man.

Re: Small back window?

I can confirm that the 6500/7500 straight trucks have a smaller window cut out. From what i was measuring the cab back panel would fit. By using the whole panel rather than just the window, the welds are in the door frame and roof header just like factory.

Re: Small back window?

The donor truck is a 1976 C/60 with small back window. I didn't notice if it has that big window size stamped into it like that white one picture. I'll check it out again. If it does, I'm not going to do this.

Yep, far as I've seen they are all like that, I've thought about it a couple times. But kinda like the stock big back window better

Yeah, this 1976 C/60 has the stamping in the back like that white one picture. Oh well not thinking about doing this anymore.

Re: Small back window?

This is on an 88-98 truck but same could be done to the 73-87 trucks.

Re: Small back window?

I like it. I think the 1967-1972 small back window shape flows well with the square bodies. I know where a 1970 C/50 is with the small back window I could use as a donor.

I like it, but I think it would look better if the window opening was set up 1" higher.

Re: Small back window?

I cut up the 1970 C/50 for the small back window. I think it will look great on my 1985 C/10?

Re: Small back window?

I separated the inner and outer skins so I can fit up one side at a time. Slowly trimming the outer skin. More to come...
