SLAB Cycles '65

Hey guys! Just picked up my '65 about two weeks ago so I figured I better start tracking the progress with a build thread. I've been a member here for awhile but I decided to make a new profile. I've had two previous c10's a 71 and a 62 but I never finished either how I wanted before I sold them. I plan on keeping this one to pass down to my son when he is old enough.

Build plans for now will be a static drop, disc brakes, 5 lug conversion, rims, and debating on motor options still

Build plans for the future will be to fully bag it with all the works but baby steps for now.

My '65 started out as a Doran Chevrolet service truck. It has the factory 283/powerglide setup and is a factory ac cab

Re: SLAB Cycles '65

All I've done so far is a bit of spray paint and surface rust removal. I will paint it eventually but for now it has a nice patina look

Bonnet looks good.

Paint removal does take time but will add to your look.

Welcome back.

Hope you get to finish this one and that life does not get in the way.

I used scotch brite and CLR. It took the primer right off but the black spray paint was on there pretty good

Truck has a cool look to it. I like the hood treatment, not sure what they're off of, but look right at home on there.

Thanks guys! I'm going to keep this one. It took awhile but this one is a good starter truck. I'm not sure about the hood ornaments either but I like them a lot

Re: SLAB Cycles '65

cool truck the center emblem on the hood is for a 59 chevy car with a 348 engine
the 2 outer ones look like they may be from a 58 chevy car.

Re: SLAB Cycles '65

Well I have some parts getting delivered this week thanks to az pro performance. Unfortunately I cant start installing any until next week. I will be tied up all weekend at the IMS Motorcycle show in Dallas. It's like being a kid starring at Christmas presents a week before Christmas

Thanks everyone! I still have a long ways to go before I get her back on the street but I'm hoping I can knock it out in the next couple weeks.
