Who has converted from manual to power brakes?
My 1982 short bed C10 truck with manual brakes stops OK -- better than most non-power brake vehicles I've driven over the years. The rear drums, shoes, and wheel cylinders are fairly new, as are front pads and rotors.
However, a few weeks ago I drove my old 69 C10 (now my son's) and it stopped soooo much better with essentially the same front and rear brakes (fronts from an 86 C10), but with an 11" OEM booster. Besides booster, master cylinder, and new brake lines, what else do I need to convert to power brakes? Vacuum is not an issue because my engine makes around 19"-20" at idle. I'm looking at buying this: http://www.cardone.com/Products/Prod...=501140&p=rock

A couple of things I remember having done this, the hole in the pedal is a different size, and you have to drill 2 holes in the upper cowl to bolt the top of the brake booster bracket to.

Re: Who has converted from manual to power brakes?
Just went the other way, the power pushrod threads into the pushrod on the booster.
If you can't find one, I'll give you my old one.
