68 tach hole where?

I found this picture for another post. I am looking where the factory tach hole would be on a 68 cab. I have seen pics of 70-72 cabs but they are different. I see a little dimple next to the fuse box hole would that be it?

Thanks

Re: 68 tach hole where?

I scoured the assembly manual and forum for this info when I installed the tach in my 69. The assembly manual showed the wire passing through the oil line grommet on the earlier years of this generation (at least 67 and 68) and through a hole to the fender side of the fuse block where on the later years (at least 71 and 72). If I recall correctly, it was unclear where the proper location was for 69 and maybe 70. I elected to drill a 3/4" hole with a Rotabroach cutter since the harness had a grommet attached. However, the hole location shown in the picture in post 1 is not correct . Here are links to some threads regarding hole location and size in case you decide to drill a hole.

Re: 68 tach hole where?

Ok I just went out and I snapped a picture. I have mine routed through where my washer hoses are going.

Thanks I seen those posts but I missed the one by lockdoc. I am currently filling the holes on my fire wall and wanted to have the correct tach hole. I am going to just run it with the oil line then.

Thanks for the quick responses
