Family Daily Driver Customized ala Isabel

I know its not a '67-72 Chevy truck, but I wanted to post this anyway. The family daily driver is...'er WAS... a 1994 Toyota Camry SE V6 Coupe. It was paid off long ago. Made in Tennesse in Jan of 1994. The two door lines are really nice. Performance was GREAT. It had a lower final drive ratio than the LE or XE so it was very quick off the line. Had faster ratio rack and pinion power steering so it was tighter than normal Camry's, and it had sports suspension so its cornering was wicked. It was a five seat sports car. They only made 'em in 1994 and 1995 so I have kept this one since new intending to drive it until the wheels fall off. Unfortunately, Isabel's remnants hit central VA two nights ago and a 60-75 foot pine hit the side of the house a glancing blow and smashed in the Toyota. My truck leaks around the windows still so it was in the garage and was saved, but the family wheels are most definately dead.

Family OK

In answer to your question, family is all OK. We were in the kitchen/family room playing cards by candle light when it hit the house. Blew out a family room window 12-15 feet away from us. Lots of flying glass, pine boughs, and rain, but none of it hit us directly and we plugged up the window - so no water damage. We did, however, sleep in the basement that night.:p

Glad you all are OK,sorry about the Camry! Does the power antanna work? If so would you sell it to me? My wife drove her car through a drive through carwash with the anttanna up and broke it off.lol

Thank Goodness you had the truck in the garage!! Camery's are made in Georgetown KY, not Tenn. I can see the glow of the Factory Flood lights at night from my house. Georgetown is full of Toyotas.

Insurance...

Insurance started at about $5500. Since I had 170,000 miles they deducted for that, and for a preexisting dent in the pass. door. Ended up at $3800. Not near enough to replace it, but at least we don't have to spend any on medical bills, THATS a blessing.
