Re: original paint stepside fenders

Why is it you can never find stuff when you need it!! I ended up buying reproduction's. These are some nice fenders and I think they are 66 only because the have the spot for the back up light. I also do not think they reproduce them with the spot for the back up lights.

They look even better now that I've cleaned 10 years of dirt and dust off of them

Re: original paint stepside fenders

I've seen this pair at my swap meet; I lucked into an entire long-step bed that is as cherry as these fenders, or I'd have bought them.
These are some of the very, very nicest fenders I've ever seen. Factory metal thickness, mounting holes in all the right places, and the added benefit of Reverse light mounts for you earlier guys (I drove my Suburban for 10 years and didn't have back-up lights... damn, you never think about them until you're driving something without them!)

These will make someone very happy.

Re: original paint stepside fenders

if your really interested in the fenders I`ll check on shipping . first I`ll have to find a box big enough for them . it will be next weekend before I can get a shipping estimate

Drive up to the NE Georgia Swap Meet in Commerce, GA next Saturday and pick 'em up! (mapquest says it's 10.5 hours from you... probably a bit far. But you'll get to go to a great swap meet, so it might be worth it!)

And I bought them, so I can tell you they made it here in one piece.

I also sold an odd fender that I had with the truck and shipped it to the buyer using Greyhound. I've done it with a few oversize parts over the years.

Re: original paint stepside fenders

I wish I had seen these earlier too. I prefer not to have the spare tire up on the fender, and bought a "factory correct" reproduction without the spare tire molding for my 1966 SS. My body man sprayed primer on it before I realized that it did not have a molding for the backup light, so Eckler's wouldn't take it back. I had it sent directly to the shop and took the salesman at their word about it being factory correct, but they didn't know anything about it having a backup light. No, apparently no one reproduces that because of little demand.

I have this fender with cutout for spare and backup light and gas filler available. It's in good shape

I still have them. Didn't see you at moultrie, the wheels are not split rims. They are 17.5 " one piece.

Re: original paint stepside fenders

Good afternoon, does anyone know who might be interested in a refurbished 1966 step-side fender with the spare tire molding and back-up light molding? The Tire Mount goes with it, and the inner box side can go too, but that I haven't rebuilt. I was saving this fender and spare tire mount because I hear that they are getting a bit harder to find, in case some day I wanted to switch my truck to how it came factory, but decided to let it go.

These are the best two photos I have at the moment, and the tire mount additional angle-iron bracket I also have, it just didn't make it into the photo.

Please PM me if you can help me find a person who would like to have these parts for their project. Thank you. I appreciate it!
