New beds on old trucks

Generally I think this shouldnt be done, but I have seen quite a few that I like. I saw this one at home at a shop, for sale for 9K, kinda steep. The one in the new Classic Trucks magazine is cool too.

the only problem with the late model beds is the wheelwell openings aren't as round as 67-72 openings, I haven't seen anyone radius them or something to make them match yet.

I don't like the mis-matched wheel openings and the mis-alignment of the upper cab line with the upper bed line.

At a glance it looks alright, especially with darker colored paint...but with a bright colored paint job the mis-alignments/wheel opening differences stick out like a sore thumb....especially white or yellow.

those beds arent sheetmetal. they are fiberglass. and it would be a lot of work to make them as round as a 67-72s.

I have seen several setups that I think look nice. Do I want one? Don't think so, I'm still partial to the old style step beds...gotta have the spare holder

Here is a pic of the lines that don't match GONE!! I agree they don't match and that is why they are gone. Have not tackled the wheel well openings but have a plan I may try.
