Antenna question.

Right now with my antenna, no matter how I mount it, it angles 20 degrees inward. Does anyone sell a bezel so that the antenna sits perfectly upright? Or do I have to be on the lookout for an NOS piece?
Thanks.

If it is a stock antenna it should be adjustable. There will be a half moon shaped piece inside the cowl that you can rotate to adjust the angle.

Re: Antenna question.

Does your SPID have a radio listed? The reason I ask is that pictures in your "progression"/build thread seem show the antenna hole in the cowl too close to the hood. That could indicate that a radio was added later or that the cowl was replaced. I don't think there is enough latitude of adjustment in a factory antenna to get it vertical in that location. It might help to post a close-up picture.

Re: Antenna question.

I'm pretty sure it's the bezel itself. There should be one that's got less of an angle on the bottom, correct?

Re: Antenna question.

Your antenna appears factory correct. The location is not. Here's a picture of mine showing where GM put them.

LockDoc
Leon, you may be thinking of a universal mount type antenna with the adjustable base and that half moon piece. Given their design, the factory OE and OE style reproduction antennas are NOT adjustable if mounted correctly in the factory location. There is a locating lug at the base of the chrome bezel that matches the indexing notch in the cowl, once you tighten the upper nut onto the threads of the antenna body everything pulls tight together, see below pictures. Re: Antenna question.

I dug up some old photos of my truck, and the antenna's in the same spot, but it's definitely got a different bezel so that it's upright.

Re: Antenna question.

Looks like someone added the aftermarket (or OEM from other vehicle) antenna , then later on it was replaced with original truck antenna, either when painted or because it broke.
