55-56 OEM and aftermarket grille
Hello all, I'm looking for an OEM grille for my 55 Chevy truck. I have a reproduction chrome grille on her now and it looks pretty good, but everything else on the truck is OEM so i'd like to replace it with an OEM.
Can you guys share some ways to ID an OEM grille vs a reproduction. I'm going to start looking locally and there are a few for sale...just want to make sure I'm getting an OEM and not an old reproduction grille with some age and mileage being passed off as OEM. Thanks! |

Re: 55-56 OEM and aftermarket grille
Are you looking for 55.1 or 55.2 new OEM or used? I have a new one for 55.2that has the original parts labels on many of the pieces

But, I'd really like to find a used OEM grille that has been chromed sometime in its life if possible...it's for a Cameo so i'm kinda of force to go chrome to make it correct. Your part would be perfect, it just that quality plating is super expensive in California these days, it would cost an arm and a leg to have it chromed. |
