Air Cleaner Hold Down Question

When I bought my truck - 66 C10 250 engine single barrel carb - it came with a new carb in the package but there was not an air cleaner hold down bolt. I purchased a piece of all thread and wing nut that are the correct size, but my question is weather there is supposed to be a jamb nut on the all-thread. If so what kind of nut is it supposed to be, and I assume it goes on top of the cross bar?

Also the piece that the all-thread screws into is loose. Is it supposed to be that way or did somebody forget to tighten down the screws that hold it on to the carburetor.

If anybody has any pictures that would be great.

Yes that crossbar is supposed to be loose. And a thin style jam nut will help in keeping the all thread from coming out when taking the top off.

I like to put a jam nut on top of the bracket & weld it to the rod. If that nut gets loose & falls into the engine it is pure destruction.
