1968 C-10, now things are moving

Late one night in Orlando, up with back pain, I scoured the internet for a 68 cab to replace mine that's so bad if you slam a door it rains rust on your head. I found an ad in Huntsville Craigslist for an ex-Colorado truck.

Believe it or not, the seller was coming down to Titusville and he delivered the truck minus engine and tranny, just the way I wanted. It's at the body shop waiting for work to start.

Need a few tips, a best source for a cowl induction hood. The prior owner of this truck took the raised hump in the center of the hood out and welded in a flat piece of steel to make the hood flat for some unknown reason. If it is too much, I will have them repair this hood so you can't see evidence of the modification.

Mine's a 4wd and I'm thinking maybe white with rhinoliner bed, cab floors, rear step bumper, tool box and just go the simple white and black theme. It will also keep cost down.

Has anyone done lightbars? Not crazy, but functional. I think a roof mount might be O.K., not too sure.

Source for wing window glass? Thoughts on re-padding the bench seat. Now I have three, thanks to some trades.

I'm going to do the Vintage Air unless someone has a better suggestion. The dash was not an A.C. dash.

She sports a balanced and blueprinted 327 I was told and roller rockers were observed when we replaced valve covers.

Thanks in advance, would welcome any suggestions. I'm also thinking about blue to match my 54 (the Dadmobile) but will probably just go with the white.

Sorry for being long winded! I'm excited with the condition of the new cab/front clip, I just saved a ton of $$ in body work.

Welcome neighbor. Your truck sounds cool, you know we need pictures.

What part of town are you in?

I've got a few extra vent windows. Clear or tinted?
