Problem with Brake Push rod on 67 Master

I followed a couple splitting the lines threads about the master cylinder conversion form a 67' on to my 63.... Long story short I did everything proper, but I still a 1 1/8" of play on my brake pedal push rode. I adjusted it as far as I could until it's in its last couple threads. I don't know how to weld or don't know anyone to take it to.... Is there any other alternatives I can do? Is there any other push rods I could buy from my local parts store like autozone that would fit onto my truck. Any honest suggestions and advice would be appreciated.... Thank you

I would take the rod to a good hardware or NAPA store and say " This needs to be an inch longer"...

Re: Problem with Brake Push rod on 67 Master

I found this answer somewhere on these forums.

I got a long coupling nut, then I got a bolt with the same threads and cut the head off to have a threaded rod. This added just enough. I kept the threaded rod long enough so that everything tightened together. Added some thread lock on it and done.
