second of all, why? dually + dana 44 sounds like a bad idea to me.

well a friend of mine has a blazer ...he also has a 4 door k30 truck..the 60 from the truck is going in his blazer and the 44 is going in the truck...but he wants to convert his truck to dually...soooooooo the moral of the story is..hes building me a t-350 for my 67 gmc 2wd....and i owe him...and i have access to 2 14 bolt dually rear ends...but hes not gonna do the dually thing unless we can find a way to make the 44 dually...

So you want the front to accept the dually wheels with the massive amounts of back spacing. You could use spacers but I doubt the 44 bearings and ball joints would be up for that. Dually dana 60s usually are cheaper than single wheel 60s because of the machining involved to set a dually60 hub for a single rear wheel vehicle.

yes im fully aware of the load capacity..or incapacity of the 44....compared to a 60...and so does the guy who owns the truck...

My dad installed duals on a '69 Chevy 3/4 4WD. I think all he needed was the front spacers and dually wheels. It held up pretty decent for quite a while, but we ultimately trashed the front differential one muddy day moving cows, when the trailer kind of got out of shape in the ditch. However, it didn't trash anything at the axle ends - just the differential. The same thing would have happened even with regular front wheels on there. I agree that the Dana 44 isn't made for that kind of backspacing, but if he's sane with it, it should last pretty decent. There are a lot of guys running way to big of tires on 44s that last quite a while, which is probably harder on them than too much backspacing. I'd get on Yahoo! or Google and search for dual-wheel conversions.

This name rings a bell. I think it might be the outfit Dad got his parts from. By the way, we have since pulled the duals off and now use that truck for truck pulling. If you'd be interested in buying those front spacers, let me know, and maybe we could work something out. Here's the link:

Something else to consider would be to keep the front axle as is an mount a pair of 33x12.5 TSLs on 10" wide rims, and in the rear mount 4 34x9.5 TSLs on 6-7" wide dually rims. That's how Interco has them list on their web site. Gives that cement truck look.

I kept the drivetrain. Body/bad and chassis are gone. 1981 K30, 350/465/205 dana 60 and dually 14 bolt. Has a G80, and a flat bed. Going to replace the flat bed. 1985 K20, 350/400/208 10 bolt and SF 14 bolt. I wonder where I can find some 1 tons. Hmmmmm
