70 long bed build

Hi guys, new to this site so be gentle! I am 22 and spent most of my childhood helping/watching and probably getting in the way of my dad restore a 1970 charger. I live in the UK (unfortunate I know!) but i was lucky to have a dad who is into cars that are actually cool unlike 90% of the other people who live over here haha. about a year ago I decided I had to have one of these trucks. I am 22 and spent all of my time trawling the interwebs looking for the truck that I could afford and wasn't in too rough a shape. also finding one that i could get shipped over here. After a long time searching I found a beautiful white lwb truck in omaha that was just in my budget. I rang the owner up, a cool guy called mike who was moving state and couldn't take the truck with him. After sorting out all the details and money the truck was finally on its way! it was shipped from his door in omaha down to texas and put on a big ol' floaty thing and on its way over to me! A whole 2 months went passed from when I purchased it over the internet from a million miles away. The torture of that wait not knowing even the real condition of that big investment. The day came when I could pick that beauty up and what a truck it turned out to be!

Nice truck. Looks like it was styled in the late 80's. In the 80's we called those wheels 'wagon wheels'. I had them on my 1972. I don't see them very often.

i couldnt have asked for a better truck. i worked my ass off to get the money for this and i absolutely did not waste my money!!! all original paperwork came with it service book and all!! A farmer owned it for 38 years before he passed away and the family sold it. The ol' guy looked after this truck probably better than he looked after his wife! endless amounts of grease on every moving part, every little stone chip had a dot of paint on it to stop the rust. I drove it for about 6 months then winter came and it obviously rained for the next 6 months because this place sucks... so it was put in the garage and a full front end restoration (which is still in progress) the motor although it pulled like a train was unfortunately junk except for the block rods and crank which luckily was perfect. I have been a motorcycle mechanic for 8 years and am pretty handy when it comes to rebuilding stuff so have done all the work myself.

thanks! I'm not sure if I'm set on those wheels or not, think im going to look for a set of gm rally wheels. I've since taken the plastic wheel trims, flaps and bug catcher off the hood not a big guy on chromey stuff

bored 30 over, 10.72 to 1 compressions pistons. towing cam, new iron heads 165cc intake runners, 72cc chambers, bigger valves and hardened exhaust seats. summit dual plane intake and new bearings all round too. tried to lacquer the iron heads but they went rusty under it so they ended up blue as well

hard to believe these 2 lived 50 miles apart back in the day, my dad imported his charger back in 1989

Nice rig! I get over to the UK several times a year for work (I have an office in Bath), and was just down near you in Bournemouth last week! I'd have probably fallen off my chair if I'd have seen a C10 whilst there!

Looks like a nice build, mate. If I get back down to Dorset, we should grab a pint and talk trucks!

managed to snap a couple cool pictures in a lightening storm once. followed that storm for 2 hours before I got a good picture spot. theres something about a 100 million volts smashing from the sky that makes you want to get closer?
