Well.....If you have seen the engine bay in the Green/white Hills hotrods truck, That is exactly what I want to do. Its basically sheet metal going from the inner lip of the fender bolts to the edge of the framerail down by the headers. Have them slanted like that... Does that make sense? Then have them painted to match the theme of the truck. That way...I wont worry about the tires hitting the fenders. They had plenty of clearance with thiers and they were running 22's up front if I remember right.
I will need to relocate my things that are attached to the inner fenders of course which might be fun, but not too bad. Did you have another suggestion for me?

I thought the Hills truck had 20's up front, 22's out back?

I do at home, but the quality may not be that good. I used a disposable camera and took the picture last year at Truckin' Nationals. Ill check tonight and try to post something.

OK, now I know what you have in mind. I saw the truck at Dust Off, and wasn't very impressed with the fit of the panels. It doesn't look "bad", but I think it could look better, considering what he does for living.
I think it would look better if it came down from the fender lip, and rolled out, and down again. Either that, or shave the firewall, and bring another short piece down to meet the side pieces...

Scoti,
I would have said 20/22 too. It does have 22's, but the tire stagger is so big that it appears to have 20's up front. I think the burghandy and white truck he built for a customer has 20/22's... |

You don't even want to know how I would (did) do it. I probably have more body work in my inner fenders, and liners than most guys have in their entire truck.... |

I think it has 22's all around.
We considered something like that for my 71. It just didn't work out because the top of the fender is a little lower than in a 73-87. It just would not have looked nearly as good as that truck.....take my word for it. Here is what my truck has now. I will admit I was a little unsure of the look but it is come together and has grown on me.

I am always drooling when you show pics of your truck. This first pic does look a little odd, but in the second pic, I can see it blends better.
I designed mine to clear with the standard X-member. Now I am considering a notched X-member, so they may get cut again. This shows how much mine are moved up, and it's probably still not enough... |

I plan on doing something similar to this on my truck.
One of the truck because it's sweet!
