Anyone install LMC rubber floor mats? help please.

I have a new rubber floor mat for my truck and was trying to put it in today but there seems to be a ton of extra material in the front. seems like it would go all the way up on the firewall even behind all the insulation pads. all that stuff is already in a long time ago and Im not taking it back out. Also if I have to take the tranny out someday Ill have to pull the matt to get the hump out and Im not going to take the whole thing apart under the dash to do that. Just wondering if anybody else has put this in and what you did as far as trimming. Its the mat that goes all the way in under the seats. tried searching the forum but didn't find any info about installing it.

Re: Anyone install LMC rubber floor mats? help please.

The part number was 38-2936 in the LMC parts catalog. I figured it out ,I guess I knew I would, but I guess I was just looking for Moral support before I started cutting on a $200floor mat. Its made with thick vinyl and was molded to the contour of the floor. It fit the floor really well but the problem was that the blank piece of material that they stamped or molded the shape of the floor in was really oversize. Because the material was so thick it was hard to bend and cut into place. Its to bad whoever manufactured it couldn't have either trimmed it a little closer or somehow clearly marked where it should have been cut. In the end I think it worked out ok but only time will tell how well it will last. If I had known a few months ago that I was going to use this particular floor cover, I would have fitted it into the cab while it was still gutted instead of trying to fit it around the heater ,firewall insulation ,pedals ,gas tank etc.

I bought one of those but it didn't fit well at all. I fought with it like crazy getting it in and fitted, but it wouldn't stay down on the floor around the gas pedal, and in the end I think they must have sent me one for a high hump floor because I had all kinds of extra material there.

I threw it out and put in carpet.
