Short Headers, 350 in v6 position, auto trans
I need to order some short headers because my truck is too low now. I just need to see what fits for my application. My truck has a 350 with patriot heads and the motor is set back against the firewall. I have a auto trans also. I could get a good deal on some hedman 69010 like these, but I am not sure of the fitment. Any help would be great, thanks.

IMHO, go with some Rams Horn Manifolds. You won't have the heat problems inherent to the collectors being too close to stuff. Years ago I followed an article about putting the Camaro Shorty Headers on my truck, I thought it sounded cool, and then the issues began. Burning up starters, heating the brake lines, burning wires, just to name a few. I finall got fed up and pulled them out and gave them to my son's buddy, with a Camaro. Good Riddens.

Look in my build thread. I bought JBA shorties and love them. I wanted the ball flange collectors for no leaks, so I went with a later model header. I always had great luck with JBA products

Re: Short Headers, 350 in v6 position, auto trans
Lots of users have the Hedman 69010 headers. They fit nice but the passenger side sweeps up over the plugs then down at the back of the head so it fits tight against where the firewall meets the floor. I'm pretty sure with an sbc set back in the 6 cyl position the pass side collector will hit the cab. I can just barely get my fingers between the header flange and firewall.
There are several threads about those headers, try doing a search on Hedman or 69010. I would link one but I'm on a phone right now.
