Tilt column doesn't cancel going right

I bought a restored tilt column a year or more ago from a board vendor and didn't drive the truck until recently, only to find out the signal doesn't cancel returning from a right hand turn. Works on the left.

Is there anything special or different about a tilt? A friend said the spring breaks, and if I can get the spring out, I can replace just that. Or will I need to order a full turn signal for a tilt?

Put more simply, how do I fix it? What do I need?

Thanks,
Dave

The spring is either broken or one end has slipped out of the clip, or I have also seen the plastic clip break that holds the end of the spring.. You should be able to tell easily when you get it apart. No way to tell until you do.

Re: Tilt column doesn't cancel going right

There are 2 little springs you will see after removeing the steering wheel. One will be broken. Very common. You can get them as a pair at any parts store in the Help line.

Re: Tilt column doesn't cancel going right

Thanks! I've never had a tilt apart so didn't know what to expect or what I was looking for... handy forum as always!
