Classic look... modern technology!
I have been working on my 71 installing cruise control for the 2016 HRPT in June. ls1nova71 has been nice enough to step me through the process along with suppling the needed parts.
One of the cooler things about this install is the cruise signal lever. It is a stock switch for a 72 Chevy truck with the upgraded guts. Hope to have it up and working after work tomorrow night. Here is the thread over in the LS section if you want to see what is involved with this install. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=703842

I bet your truck is one of the most comfortable and driveable trucks on this site Andy. You have so many cool mods done that really takes the comfort and daily driveability from newer models and put it in a classic. Cruise control is like icing on the cake

Hmmm, And to think all these years I thought cruise control was Pink Floyd in the 8 Track and a Marlboro driving down the Blvd on my way to the drive in ?

Re: Classic look... modern technology!
Got everything wired and ready to go tonight and it's raining so tomorrow night will be the test drive for it. Can't wait to drive it and see how it does.

Re: Classic look... modern technology!
The cruise is factory which for me is a cable hooked to the throttle. Mine is cable drive but he talks about wire driven throttle bodies too if it's drive by wire!
I'm sure he can step you through it like me. The picture is everything you need. Your wires are hooked to: #1- 12 volts with key on @ brake light switch #2- 12 volts when no brakes applied but no 12 volts when they are applied. #3- 12 volts when brakes applied #4- Ground #5- Vss signal from PCM in mine it was C-2 connector which is RED #50.

Re: Classic look... modern technology!
Drove the truck again today for the second test drive.
First drive was not so good. I got the cruise to work 2 times but then nothing. So after work I came home and checked all the wires out with only a test light. I found 1 connection bad and not working the signal wire on the brake pedal when released to the turn signal. It was interment so I made up another connection and what do you know I have a full functional cruise now. ls1nova71 is the man when it comes to LS stuff.
