Here is a pic of a friend of mines 1972 1 ton dually that was converted to a 4x4 when it was new. It was bought new as a 4x4 buy the city we live in and was used to carry and plant tree's. He has no idea who did the conversion on this truck. And, NO It is not for sale. Just thought you 4x4 guy's would like to see it.

board member 60apache4 (i think thats his name) is the only other board member that I know of that owns a NAPCO 67-72. IIRC, it will have a np205 divorced t-case, and then NAPCO stamped round diffed closed knuckled drum braked axle. they sure are cool.

Yep, That is the way the truck is set up. I wounder what it is worth?? I think he paid quite abit for it.

Did it have a flat/utility bed on it, or did it have a box bed on it orginally?

I don't think i have ever saw one of those before.

It had no bed on it when new. It had a tree spade installed on it when the city got it.

Cool truck Joe. Gotta like the Napco conversions, and the rarety. I saw a 68 Napco at "Goat Days" in Millington TN. I think it was owned by a local fire department.

That blue '71 1 ton dually 4x4 is owned by Tom O'Brien of Southern Oregon. When I was at his place buying his '60 GMC 4x4, I looked that NAPCO over. That was the only way you could get a 1 ton dually 4x4 back then. GM didn't start making 1 ton duallys off the assembly line until 1977.

Joe, I've been patiently waiting to see pics of that truck. Thanks. I only know of about 4 trucks total that were converted by NAPCO in the 1967-72 era, but there is no telling how many are still hard at work on a farm or ranch somewhere.

I know of one here in Ontario Canada. It was for sale a while ago.

I think it had a 6 in it though. I had no interest at the time in such a truck.

I kept the drivetrain. Body/bad and chassis are gone. 1981 K30, 350/465/205 dana 60 and dually 14 bolt. Has a G80, and a flat bed. Going to replace the flat bed. 1985 K20, 350/400/208 10 bolt and SF 14 bolt. I wonder where I can find some 1 tons. Hmmmmm
