Any ideas what to do with this dash?

First off, I bought the truck like this. I thought I had it covered 'till Sawman ripped me off and about 20 other people. He was supposed to send me the whole center section. Its a '67. Anyone had any luck re-forming those curves? I would like to do it on the cheap. I guess I'll put a new radio in it at this point but I still need to fix the sides.

I've seen those, but I haven't seen an actual '67 patch. The dash is a little different on '67. Thanks though. I also don't understand why they don't make the patches a little wider and taller. That way you would have small welds a couple of inches into the cluster and glove box and the top one hidden by the dash pad. Instead of 2 giant welds all the way up your dash and one across the top. I'd pay more for that.

hey, somebody cut yours with a spoon just like mine! i think your best bet is to find a patch panel from a more reputable seller.

Re: Any ideas what to do with this dash?

The fastest ,easiest way is to buy a used dash face and cut the old face out above the steering column then across the top (under the dash pad and back down thru the glove box . This allows you to avoid all the finish body work on the exposed face and you just have small sections to work . And your using a factory panel . Place a wtb ad I just this week bought 1 ( $45.00 + shipping) for my 67 no air truck and another with air for a another truck I'm building . Look in the classifieds for the thread ( pictures for grumpy ) posted yesterday .

Re: Any ideas what to do with this dash?

In the short term I would finish the job of cutting out the opening and stick a nice single DIN radio in there. A little blue tooth action and modern sound you might not want to fill it in. I've never owned a 67 but I can say I understand the need for originality in our trucks.

67s have a smaller ignition area hole opening.

one the ash try is a one yr. only in a 67.

the hole for the ingnition bezel is smaller.

if your doing a din radio i agree cut it out nicely and make a panel. i did this my kids 67 it looked like it was cut with a p38 and being a kid i knew he would want a aftermarket radio anyway.

another possible choice is a radio delete panel but yours looks to be cut a lil' bigger than a delete panel.
