Which Caliper?

The right front caliper locked up on my truck, so I went to the store and the clerk asked me the brake code, but I don't see it anywhere on my truck. My truck is a light 1/2 ton with the 1inch wide rotors. How do I tell if I have the JB3/JB1 or JD5/JD3?

Re: Which Caliper?

JD3/JD5 are hydroboost.

JB1 is manual, JB3 is the lightest power system.

You are lucky that JB3 is the only power system with the 1" rotor, therefore your truck is JB3.

SPID will only show the "merchandised" brake option of J50 (power), not the "unmerchandised" detail of JB1/JB3/JB5/JB6/JB7/JB8.

Oh - I assumed you had power brakes.

If you are manual then you have JB1. No doubt about it.
