Bouncing Hood
At high speeds my hood bounces a lot in the middle... is there a fix for this?

I had the same problem. I replaced the deteriorated foam padding between the hood braces and the hood skin and I added an extra brace across the middle. Tightened it up.

I went to the Chevy truck aisle at Home Depot and got a 1/2" x 1/2" x 36" square tube. Squirted satin black with a rattle can and stuck it under the hood's center ridge. Took 90% of the bounce out. Nobody has ever noticed it there.

I used angle steel bar, cut one side section on both ends to slip under the hood brace, between the brace and the padding. Its a tight fil on my truck so no chance of it moving. Also you can make the cut at a slight angle and push the piece back to where it fits tightly against the edge of the brace.

I used some sponge rubber gasket material from my work, it's 1/2" thick and I had to " shoe horn" it in between the hood skin and the bracing, but it significantly reduced the "Oil Can" vibration/bounce of the sheet metal, and I have a pretty lumpy solid lifter cam in mine.....I'll snap a few pictures once I get home this evening.
