Has anyone ever bought LED headlights or taillights?

If you have could you please tell me what brand and if they are still worth the money? I really want both but the headlights on average are about $350.00 and the taillights are about $200.00. I am hoping there are cheaper alternatives and I can still get that LED look.

Any info will be greatly appreciated

Truck lite stuff is in military vehicles. Ask me how I know.....

Have you seen this?

Amazon shows it around 285. Not cheap, but very bright.

I found LED conversion tail lights that just go into the fitting where the bulb would be, cost 90$ CAD for the pair... Can't tell you how well they work as I'm mid way re-wiring my 70!

I got mine from LMC (the ones at the bottom of the page). I like them! Easy to install and very bright. They pulse and then go steady. Friends who have followed me said they look great.

no they aren't cheap, I was hoping you was going to show me a cheaper option. If I'm going to spend almost 3 bills I am going to get the ones with turn signals in them for a cleaner look. Thanks for providing me with the website though. I appreciate it.

the tail lights for a $100 doesn't seem too bad as long as it's the pair. I kinda like the bulb replacement for $90.00 for the pair. I think I can do that.

I have the truck lite headlights in my 69 Camaro.... They are not cheap but they are well worth the money. I wish they had a brighter (closer to stock) appearance when off though.

I think that's what makes them cool looking is they aren't stock. you know old school with the modern look but to each is own. Thanks for the post.

And they fill the entire lens instead of just half. And as said, they have a sequential setting as well which is illustrated in my video.

LED lights in a 1969 Chevy C10 - YouTube
Great video, thank you so much for that. All of the suggestions are gr8 but the price for some of those are crazy. Should I just bite the bullet or are there any out there that produce the same awesome look for half the cost?

Wink Re: Has anyone ever bought LED headlights or taillights?

As mentioned i can do a tail set for you at a good price. They are not sequential but i bet they are brighter than the digi tails. They are made with superflux (sign leds) not smd's like most store bought. The tails are about 5400 lumens each. They are plug and play. And they also fill the entire lense.... there are plenty of threads here on them with pic's and video... here is a link!!!

I just bought these the other day, once they show up I'll post some pics. Not a bad price at all.

Yep, I have the Truck Lite headlights as well. They are awesome! They put the old headlights to shame. They are well worth the money.

Grote also makes headlights. The part number is 90941-5. Summit has them for $235 but they can be found in the $175 range.

Re: Has anyone ever bought LED headlights or taillights?

I bought clear H4 retrofit housings off Ebay. Then bought H4 LED headlights from Ebay again. I have similar sets in my motorcycle too. Both have been on the vehicle for a year or so. Neither is a daily driver, but both have significant hours. No winter driving. The LED headlights are similar to the HID bulbs. They have a remote ballast. Both of mine have a fan on the back to cool the bulb.

The total was sub $160 for 4 lights (GMC)

Housings are $35 USD for a set (2)
the LED + Ballast kits are $25-40 USD for a set (2)
